Hi, I’m Emily—mother of seven (including one beautiful stepdaughter), lifelong learner, and woman in the ongoing process of becoming.

I’ve been a stay-at-home mom since I was 22, which means I’ve spent over two decades growing children, faith, and identity—often all at once. I’ve homeschooled through seasons of chaos and wonder, rebuilt my voice in the middle of noise, and learned to begin again more times than I can count.

I grew up in the woods of Mississippi, where wildness and stillness lived side by side. That early connection to nature taught me to listen deeply and find beauty in the small, the quiet, the overlooked. Later, I lived abroad—an experience that stretched my understanding of home, belonging, and what it means to carry yourself through unfamiliar places with an open heart.

All of that lives here now, in Ash and Bloom.

This blog is for women who’ve given everything, only to find themselves in the ashes—unsure, undone, maybe even invisible. It’s for the mothers who’ve lost parts of themselves along the way, the wives and daughters and dreamers who are rediscovering what still lives inside.

Because here’s what I’ve learned:

The burning is not the end.

In nature, some seeds only open after burning.

And in motherhood, womanhood, and life—

some of us don’t bloom until after we break.

This space is a collection of stories, reflections, and slow truths. Some raw. Some soft. All real. It’s about motherhood, faith, home, healing, and the sacred beauty tucked into the ordinary and some funny stories along the way.

Whether you’re in the burnout, the rebuilding, or the quiet bloom—

you’re welcome here.

We’ll grow together.
